Reese Boyd III is an attorney and partner with of Davis & Boyd, LLC, located in Myrtle Beach, SC. Boyd’s law practice focuses on probate/estate and trust litigation, commercial and business disputes and litigation, general civil litigation, corporate formations and business law, and aviation law. Boyd is a native of Conway and a graduate of Conway High School. He also graduated from Davidson College with a degree in economics, and later from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was selected as a member of the Moot Court Bar and received an American Jurisprudence award for Appellate Advocacy.
Upon graduation from law school, Boyd served as legal counsel to former South Carolina Governor Carroll A. Campbell, Jr., both during Campbell’s second term as Governor, and during his work as Chairman of the American Council of Life Insurers in Washington, D.C. Boyd was awarded the Order of the Palmetto by Governor Campbell. Boyd later served as vice president and counsel to a large diversified asset management, insurance and financial services firm in Boston, Massachusetts, before returning to South Carolina and entering private practice.
Boyd currently lives in Murrells Inlet with his wife Lee and their two children, Leila and Reese IV. He is active in community and church activities, and his family and he are members of First Baptist Church, Murrells Inlet. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Garden City Chapel. He is a Board member for the South Carolina Club for Growth, and currently serves as Board Chairman for the Palmetto Family Council in Columbia, South Carolina. Boyd is also serving in his second term as a Board Member for the South Carolina Statewide Public Charter School District. He has been active in Republican Party politics for many years and has served as the Vice Chairman of the Part and as the SCGOP State Executive Committeeman for Horry County.
